HI, I’M BRIONY

I’m a storyteller, content creator and speaker.

Not many people know this but I actually have a Commerce Finance degree under my belt. I studied numbers… but words and pictures were my first loves. Performing in all the uni stage reviews and plays was probably a pretty big hint that my heart wasn’t set on an accounting career!

After uni, I put my storytelling skills to work and started helping change-makers; organisation like the World Wildlife Fund & The Climate Council, by creating and sharing entertaining content that was carefully crafted to make an impact.

Life took its own path, as it often does, and I found myself living in Sydney with an awesome job as Executive Producer of Video at Mamamia (the publishing platform, not the musical!).

I was working with heaps of cool brands and creating clips that got millions of hits. I should have been on top of the world but man, the only thing I ever felt ready for bed.

The sucker punch moment came in the form of a stage 4 lymphoma diagnosis. Goodbye apartment and job… hello chemo and a bunch of majorly unexpected plot twists.

OH HELLO CURVEBALL, I DID NOT SEE YOU COMING!

THE STORY CONTINUES

Keeping a video diary and writing down my feelings played a huge role in my experience with cancer.

When I finally got the all-clear, I created a short video called ‘You Only Get One Life’, which quickly went viral and led to a publishing deal.

My book, Life if Tough But So Are You, is all about how to rise to the challenge when things go pear-shaped (or C-shaped, like they did for me). I created it to help other people who have had a massive setback and can’t really get their head around what’s happening right now, let alone what to do next.

SPEAKING AND PRESENTING

So storytelling has been by my side all along. Now, I’m sharing my story and what I have learned with as many people as possible.

You’ll find me on stage inspiring audiences, reminding them of what they are capable of and yes, making them laugh.

With every presentation, I aim to help everyone in the audience understand how to face the toughest time of their lives with more smiles and less fear.

It’s all about living the biggest, most audacious version of our own stories. After everything that’s happened, my mission is to help as many people as possible to embrace the idea that every one of us can make the world a better, kinder and more fun place.

GOING THROUGH CANCER TREATMENT WAS
LIFE-CHANGING. SO I WROTE A BOOK

So many of us experience life-disrupting events.
I wrote a book about mine, to help you through yours.
